Portrait

Welcome to my personal webpage! My name is Laurent Kneip and I am from Luxembourg. I am currently a scientific assistant at the Autonomous Systems Lab of ETH Zurich in Switzerland, where I am also pursuing my PhD under the supervision of Professor Roland Siegwart. I am working in the sFly-project, which has the goal of developing micro-flying robots operating fully autonomously in unknown, unstructured, and GPS-denied environments. Our goal is to solve this challenging problem using only cameras as exteroceptive sensors.

My own research is focussing on the investigation of novel, efficient approaches for camera egomotion estimation in absolute scale. I am highly interested in the domains of deterministic geometric computer vision and visual-inertial sensor fusion.
